What is a company matching donation?
A company matching donation, or matching gift, is when a person makes a donation to a non-profit organization and their employer donates an additional amount, often equal or greater than the employee’s donation. A matching gift is a great way for a donor to increase their contribution to the Eagle Alliance!
How do I know if my employer matches my donation?
Check out this comprehensive list of companies that are known to match employee donations for K-12 PTO/PTA. However, your company may still offer a program even if you do not see them on this list. It is always best to check directly with your Human Resources department for specific information on whether they have a matching program and how to request a matching donation.
Can I process the match request online?
Employer donation matching programs vary by employer, but many companies do allow you to request a matching donation online. Please contact your company’s Human Resources department for more information.
What are the steps for Company Matching?
Every company is different, but here are the general steps:
Start the matching process by checking with your Human Resources or Marketing department as each employer has different requirements. The match request form always includes information that must be completed by the employee and is typically posted on the company intranet. Sometimes there's a second portion that must be completed by the Eagle Alliance.
If the Eagle Alliance needs to provide information, please send us the form along with your donation and we’ll complete it with the EA’s required information. We will then mail it into your employer! It’s that easy.

How long before the company match is received by the Eagle Alliance?
It often takes at least a month, and in some cases up to 6 months, for the Eagle Alliance to receive the funds from company matching programs. For this reason, we highly recommend you to start the process as soon as you have made the original donation.
