HFE Student Organizations
- Heards Ferry is an official chapter of the Best Buddies program. The Best Buddies Elementary Program is designed to offer students with and without intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in an elementary school setting, the opportunity to engage in inclusive activities that promote friendship, acceptance, and interaction. Students participate in both group and one-to-one activities to allow for optimal engagement and interaction for all members. By educating younger students about disabilities and the abilities of people with IDD, students will grow with a mutual understanding and respect for their peers. It is Best Buddies' hope that these opportunities will lead students to create more inclusive communities as they grow in life.
