Changes to Drop-Off/Pick-Up Procedures

Important Changes to Drop-Off and Pick-Up & Change of Transportation

As our school continues to grow, we must continually reassess our protocols to ensure the safety of our Eagles. Please see a few highlights below: 

1. Transportation changes are now electronic. Please email transportation changes to HeardsFerryTransportationChanges@fultonschools.org by 1:00 PM.  Copy your teacher on the email as well.  Include the following: 

• Student’s first and last name 

• Student’s teacher 

• The date(s) the change is to begin and end 

• If changing to a BUS RIDER: Please include the bus number or color/animal and drop off location. 

• If changing to CARPOOL: Please include your carpool number, if you have one, and include the name of who is picking the child up. 

• If changing to a DAYCARE PROVIDER: Please include the name of the Daycare Provider, contact person, and phone number. 

• If changing to an AFTER-SCHOOL ACTIVITY, please provide the name of the activity, the day(s) of the week of the activity and the date(s) it begins and ends. 

• Parent/Guardian’s contact information to include name and phone number

Best Buddies Recognition

Heards Ferry is celebrating its third year as an official chapter of the Best Buddies program. We are thrilled to share that our chapter was officially selected as Georgia’s Outstanding Elementary Chapter of the Year! The Best Buddies Elementary Program is designed to offer students with and without intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in an elementary school setting, the opportunity to engage in inclusive activities that promote friendship, acceptance, and interaction. Students participate in both group and one-to-one activities to allow for optimal engagement and interaction for all members. By educating younger students about disabilities and the abilities of people with IDD, students will grow with a mutual understanding and respect for their peers. It is Best Buddies' hope that these opportunities will lead students to create more inclusive communities as they grow in life.
